Emancipation Park – Houston, TX
2018 NTMA honor Award
This construction project involved the expansion and remodel of an existing park building and the additions of a recreational building with a basketball court and a pool building. Epoxy terrazzo in a stately palette of white, medium gray, and dark gray tones was chosen for its longevity, durability, and ease of maintenance. The floor patterns echo the shapes of the buildings, interior spaces and the pool with a series of rectangles. Precast epoxy terrazzo panels are installed on the desks, walls, base, and donor wall.
